2020: Hope for a better year

It's been a long time since I've posted here. 2019 was a bad year for our family, close and extended. There was a lot of loss in both worlds, human and dog. We approach 2020 with trepidation and hope.

Yuki’s Story: The End

Today Yuki no longer has to suffer his cancers, his bad hips, his arthritis.  Today Yuki is freed from suffering any longer.  He will be sorely missed.  I cry openly as I write this because I am sad and because our family will be smaller and will lack the joy his quirky, happy personality brought... Hello 2019

Another year has passed here at twodo.gs, and I'm happy to report that all our doggos are alive and mostly well. Yuki, the sickest, still has two cancers to battle.  His osteosarcoma is very apparent in his front leg, and he is getting bone-strengthening treatments once-a-month to delay the inevitable break.  He's lost most of... Yuki’s Story Continues: From Bad to Worse

Yuki’s struggle against cancer has received a significant blow this week, and the prognosis is not good. First to recap how we got here, it was October, 2017, when we took Yuki to the Vet for a skin problem and Yuki left the Vet diagnosed with stage 4 Lymphoma. We got Yuki to the Oncologist... Pecos’s Story: X-Ray

Dandy really hates thunder.

Our Golden Retriever from Turkey has a really bad fear of thunder or loud noises.  When storms roll through she goes bananas running around the house looking for somewhere to hide.  We have found great success using the Thundershirt to calm her down.  She gets excited when she sees it pulled out and practically jumps... Pecos’s Story: The Beginning

It now appears the Pecos has Oral Melanoma on his lower lip. We now have two dogs with cancer. We took Pecos to the Vet last night to have her look at a growth on his lip. She did an aspiration for an official prognosis, but she's pretty sure it's Melanoma. He doesn't seem to... Continue Reading →

Yuki’s Story: The Story (sadly) Continues

Yuki's cancer has returned. After about 5 months of celebrating Yuki's successful journey through chemotherapy to fight and put his Lymphoma into remission, July's discovery that his lymph nodes were swelling again was very upsetting. We had noticed in June/July that his skin problems were returning and Mom then noticed his lymph nodes increasing in... Continue Reading →
