It’s been a while since Pecos’s Story had an update and a lot has happened in that time. A mentioned before, Pecos had an X-Ray done to see if there was any sign of cancer in his lungs or chest. The X-Ray was clean, although there was some concern about the size of his heart... Continue Reading →
Yuki’s Story Continues: From Bad to Worse
Yuki’s struggle against cancer has received a significant blow this week, and the prognosis is not good. First to recap how we got here, it was October, 2017, when we took Yuki to the Vet for a skin problem and Yuki left the Vet diagnosed with stage 4 Lymphoma. We got Yuki to the Oncologist... Yuki’s Story Continues: End of first round
Yuki ended the first round of his second time in chemo this week with a dose of Mitoxantrone. The Oncologist feels that Yuki is doing well enough he can take two weeks off instead of just one, and doesn't even need to come in for the off-week blood test. I'm hoping this is the case... It now appears the Pecos has Oral Melanoma on his lower lip. We now have two dogs with cancer. We took Pecos to the Vet last night to have her look at a growth on his lip. She did an aspiration for an official prognosis, but she's pretty sure it's Melanoma. He doesn't seem to... Continue Reading →

They did lots of tests that day, blood, ultrasounds, etc., and it all looked good. They also took a sample from one of his lymph... Continue Reading →
Yuki’s Story – Round 4, Week 1
Yuki is now on his last round of chemotherapy, and soon we'll know if all this was any help in extending his life. We are anxious to know if all these treatments will give us more time with our beloved pet, but they also made us realize that every moment with our dogs is a gift and that their presence in our life, and the affect they have on our lives, should never be take for granted.
Yuki‘ a Story – Round 3, Week 2
Liver wurst Yuki's third round of Cytoxan began this week, but it almost didn't happen. Yuki's liver values were still going in the wrong direction when he was tested before his chemo. This brought on a "all hands on deck" situation at the Oncologist's office as they decided to find out what was going on... Continue Reading →
Yuki’s Story: Round 3, Week 1
Just a quick update. Yuki has begun his third round of chemotherapy this week with Vincristine again. One thing, however, that has caused some concern with the oncologist is Yuki's Liver numbers. His total bilirubin number was high and after re-checking was much lower but remained above normal. The doctor decided to lessen the Vincristine... Continue Reading →

The second round completes The Holiday season is upon us and Yuki is finishing “Round 2” of his chemotherapy.
